I played this game a while back. We had 4 players, 3 German and 1 American. Unfortunately, I was so busy both playing and teaching the game, all the players were new, that I didn't take any pictures of the game itself. Last week I took part in Tanksgiving, my friend's, Mike, Thanksgiving game day event. I decided to run a Megablitz game of Bastogne. Since I'm planning to run this game at a convention later. I've been working on a schedule that hasn't allowed me to do much of anything, gaming related. Mostly I've been trying to rebuild my database on computer, as I can take my laptop to work. However things are starting to look up and I've finally manage to get some new painting done. I've start on some units for a modern version of Megablitz. To this end, I decided to go with 3mm, as this will allow me to try some new things. So here's my first unit, the Canadian 4th Mechanized Brigade</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmpyn_JoH1czu51X221MWY-ik7McW-nAMSu9RIi2vK-sxQycd5etEoypjMtjK9BQSKtUqoS_0AtVs-AWDOtOrBs8qMtsfZxyaXg7B0lQtHb8OcEcXoKyLsqHk9h9JLQcOc_Zq-qFDuM0nd/s960/121292370_185657.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmpyn_JoH1czu51X221MWY-ik7McW-nAMSu9RIi2vK-sxQycd5etEoypjMtjK9BQSKtUqoS_0AtVs-AWDOtOrBs8qMtsfZxyaXg7B0lQtHb8OcEcXoKyLsqHk9h9JLQcOc_Zq-qFDuM0nd/w640-h480/121292370_185657.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I went with some different base sizes, from my WWII units. In the front row are the main combat units; the recon company, 3rd Royal Canadian Regiment, 1st/22nd Infantry Regiment, and the Royal Canadian Dragoons Armor regiment. The next row has the Combat Support units; the brigade HQ, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Regiment, and 4th Combat Engineer "Regiment" (Actually a company size formation). Finally in the back we have the Combat Service Support units, a supply column and medical unit. <div> I'll be using this 3mm scale to try out new some ideas for Megablitz. I've got some Russians on the way so hopefully I'll get those done soon. My goal is to have a small game ready by the end of the year. </div>JLee118http://www.blogger.com/profile/17019479873474364780noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1805848191179881331.post-38402303290015712442020-02-11T15:41:00.000-05:002020-02-11T15:41:19.961-05:00Rapier 2020I know I've been off for a while. My Laptop went tits up back in December, and it taken me a while to get a replacement. Not only did I lose the computer but all the data in it. House rules, planned scenarios, data list for various games, my collection of TOEs and OOBs. Its going to take while to replace all that. Anyway, on to funnier things. This weekend I managed to go to Rapier down in Jacksonville for at least part of Saturday. Like idiot I didn't get any pictures of the other games that were going on there and there were some pretty nice ones. I did manage to get pictures of the one game I was able to get in on.<br />
<br />
It was a modern wargame using Lock and Loads World at War: 85 rules. I was controlling an infantry company and cavalry troop, as well as an AH-1 cobra. There was another player controlling another infantry company as well as several German units. We were facing three reinforced battalions, two East German and one Soviet.<br />

<br />
I now have all the major units I need. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the 101st Airborne. I'll try to post them up next week.<br />

This time I decided to paint some aircraft for late war eastern front. First off we have some new German fighters. A Me109G and Fw190.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Me109 is an old In-Service Miniatures model, while the Fw190 is from Scotia</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Next we have a Ju87G with autocannons and a Fw189 reconnaissance plane.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Both models are by Scotia</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Of course these aircraft need someone to fight, so I also added to my Red Airforce. First up is the fighters, an La-5 and Yak-9.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The La-5 is a Scotia model, while the Yak-9 is GHQ.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
For Ground Support we have a IL-2M and Pe-2 light bomber. Also in the background is a Po-2 bi-plane. A versatile little craft, they where used as light bombers, or reconnaissance planes.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Both the IL-2M and Pe-2 are from Scotia, while the Po-2 is from H&R. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
That's the new stuff for now. A few more odds and Ends and I'll be ready for a another game of Megablitz. I'm not sure what I'll work on next.<br />

I actually got some painting done this month. For some up coming games of Megablitz I decided I needed some army level artillery as well as other assets. So I just came up with this Monstrosity, the 6th Breakthrough Artillery Corps.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-jQ27ekE7TmPk7TIAAF24-z_rQUda2r-XnXhhZbsIVPr4oPw88QpP5lbXsl0awrqv7SduKfGt0G3l2FOlGZf5QEqavxefUwRU5SieoV0UV5X07rkoGqshUlymwUV2Hsg-kYoypXiKokGN/s1600/20190921_071759.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-jQ27ekE7TmPk7TIAAF24-z_rQUda2r-XnXhhZbsIVPr4oPw88QpP5lbXsl0awrqv7SduKfGt0G3l2FOlGZf5QEqavxefUwRU5SieoV0UV5X07rkoGqshUlymwUV2Hsg-kYoypXiKokGN/s640/20190921_071759.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This unit is based on one that fought in the battle of Berlin and will be providing army level artillery for the forseeable future. The corps is made up of two breakthrough artillery division. First is the 2nd Breakthrough Artillery Division.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkS20NMdhNbgiDHVn2dXlY5l55xQmAX1ImwehgKmeZ3ie3_-CQAilcDPFBG-Yk0qeCLWmJfW4v5zUgtYHekdz30fnP68cfRjX_ACbrQpIiwNMuLbOuedzM-Ybx2mcdN3eTqeviLTAbxRDf/s1600/20190921_071714.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkS20NMdhNbgiDHVn2dXlY5l55xQmAX1ImwehgKmeZ3ie3_-CQAilcDPFBG-Yk0qeCLWmJfW4v5zUgtYHekdz30fnP68cfRjX_ACbrQpIiwNMuLbOuedzM-Ybx2mcdN3eTqeviLTAbxRDf/s640/20190921_071714.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In the first half of the division we have the 20th Light Artillery Brigade, 10th Guards Howitzer Brigade, and the 16th Guards Gun Brigade.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj04W_9igKkmcIQpfoQYPrTgjLDtyThy96x-awz1Jx_R8QKLfoDwSi1yg5lqZ3NceGrR7ONstJaK-U7Njd7s4pn174Si5AZnjGSkkW_c8ixDZRB0E-ZJ1mgT7CUBd3w1v1WePxa8HiHXYsi/s1600/20190921_071633.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj04W_9igKkmcIQpfoQYPrTgjLDtyThy96x-awz1Jx_R8QKLfoDwSi1yg5lqZ3NceGrR7ONstJaK-U7Njd7s4pn174Si5AZnjGSkkW_c8ixDZRB0E-ZJ1mgT7CUBd3w1v1WePxa8HiHXYsi/s640/20190921_071633.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />

<br />
The other division is 14th Breakthrough Artillery Division.<br />

<br />
Its first half is made up of the 169th Light Artillery Brigade, 172nd Howitzer Brigade, and 176th Heavy Howitzer Brigade.<br />

<br />
The other half has the 122nd High Powered Howitzer Brigade, 21st Heavy Mortar Brigade, and 6th Guards Mortar Brigade.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjErkwp9d7DIXjdNznDvFVsZyjM12F_Y-CBuEKeZN-qOZlH-zz1wgAKfJtVnigoGxJ9Ay-15EOL8HO_FaQ83SWziIUZsn8QH3lLreJ5gCLqKGGoCTLlQwA9KtfpV5y5UqWr4FmsW3jvf5Br/s1600/20190921_064605.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjErkwp9d7DIXjdNznDvFVsZyjM12F_Y-CBuEKeZN-qOZlH-zz1wgAKfJtVnigoGxJ9Ay-15EOL8HO_FaQ83SWziIUZsn8QH3lLreJ5gCLqKGGoCTLlQwA9KtfpV5y5UqWr4FmsW3jvf5Br/s640/20190921_064605.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In addition to the artillery Corps I also made some other army level assets. Two Anti-aircraft artillery regiments and a medical unit. (For the horses)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6IgNrX689M7_8k2EmcKLIskxhLtcU4bnrigDxLekE1mT90mNLnb5Uzmfv_ucNPyoWLD5CgOjeAe5TS2WybjUDul0p61CK6mSrcaaWaw0qWX0BOA16pVNN7Z_FNS4KgiOlEpEBHp9L1AjC/s1600/20190921_064727.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6IgNrX689M7_8k2EmcKLIskxhLtcU4bnrigDxLekE1mT90mNLnb5Uzmfv_ucNPyoWLD5CgOjeAe5TS2WybjUDul0p61CK6mSrcaaWaw0qWX0BOA16pVNN7Z_FNS4KgiOlEpEBHp9L1AjC/s640/20190921_064727.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally while I made a couple of modern Pact units for FFT. Two upper level command vehicles. These were part of a Shapeways command set I brought for fun. They will mainly serve as possible objectives in any FFT games.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlkmh1Re123qaFIJfXJR1x0eI8-RfMKxmQM1r5q0lt_UWMLxYlCxBdlOaMQTTtqA1QUnz9QhR1PNFeyGJHlj2j8R4cGdTOaOH3yifMiBF0bBFUBhZ9VTJz2b1hRmQG7tNKe4Djl_5iBEcD/s1600/20190921_072131.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlkmh1Re123qaFIJfXJR1x0eI8-RfMKxmQM1r5q0lt_UWMLxYlCxBdlOaMQTTtqA1QUnz9QhR1PNFeyGJHlj2j8R4cGdTOaOH3yifMiBF0bBFUBhZ9VTJz2b1hRmQG7tNKe4Djl_5iBEcD/s640/20190921_072131.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up I think I'll paint up some aircraft.<br />

I was going to do some more Megablitz units last month, but there was a problem in shipping so I wasn't able to start the project I wanted. So instead I decided to get started on a new Sci-Fi army either for Stardust or some other rule set. Being an anime fan, I've been thinking of doing a Principality of Zion army for some time now. So I've decided to start with some mobile suits. Particularly Char's Red Zaku II. Here it is with it's standard weapons of an autocannon and a heat hawk.<br />
<br />

Well that's it for the new stuff. In the next few weeks I'll be working on some projects for Megablitz.JLee118http://www.blogger.com/profile/17019479873474364780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1805848191179881331.post-8650472003401119342019-05-21T17:16:00.000-04:002019-05-21T17:16:21.835-04:00Shipwreck SundayI actually manage to get the time to play a game. Me and Christian met up at Morning Star Games to play some Shipwreck. The scenario was based on one from Harpoon, in which a small German force had to intercept a small Soviet Amphibious Assault Group. Both me an Christian roll to decide who got which side. I ended up with the Soviets. I had two cruisers, a Kara and Kresta I, and one frigate, a Krivak II. They were escorting a group of 4 LSTs. Christian got a Ex-US Charles F. Adams missile destroyer and a Bremen class frigate. Both sides also had air support on the way.<br />
<br />
The game started with bad weather, rough seas and light rain. In addition the war had just started and there was lots of civilian shipping traffic. Radar search was hindered by the bad weather and ESM wasn't effective due to the fact that all the civilian vessels had their navigation radars on. The civilians were also running with their lights on, making them easier to spot visually. Here's some pictures of what happened.<br />

Both missiles hit sinking the Frigate. The Kresta took a hit that took out one of her guns and a ASW mortar. For my part, the SS-N-14 missed the destroyer, but both SS-N-3s hit the frigate. Being heavy missiles they made short work of the Emben. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
After that last turn, my phone battery gave up the ghost and died so I don't have anymore photos. The final turn the seas finally calmed down. The Kara fired another SS-N-14 at the German destroyer. Meanwhile the Christian fired three Standard missiles, at the heavily damaged Alligator. The standards hit the Alligator first sinking it; and they had just gotten repaired too. Shortly after the Selix hit the Rommel taking out its missile launcher and crippling it. This was when we called it. Christian won but it was a pyrrhic victory with the loss of a very modern frigate and the potential loss of a DDG, of which the Germans had only three.<br />
<br />
It's been a long time since I've played any shipwreck and mistakes were made in both game play and the scenario, which was made up a bit rushed. But over all the game was really enjoyable. I really should have given the Russians four MiGs instead of two, or may something more modern then MiG-21s. I also might look into the weapons arches for some of the ships, particularly the Russian cruisers.<br />
<br />
The game also gave me some useful insight on my future invasion game. The biggest thing being the playing area. I'll either have to increase the table size/length or use centimeters instead. If I can get the players, I'm thinking of trying the invasion game on first weekend of June, it being the 75th anniversary of D-Day and what not.<br />

My work ended up taking almost all of my time last year and good amount of this year as well. But, now I have a new schedule and I finally got my work desk in some sort of order.To celebrate I decided to paint a few new things.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIsK29AZCQwMfls1pWp0i-qSawBsbGrjczGVFtJPuJzWtpH0gE6CQx0p0G5u_sU9-D-uM_XNFmz5tpNV80sRCaHOGPqZa4_ro4dNxolfg74QDQcjSBoN0pC8GU8NLe2-0Mhr1rkwEEEzyf/s1600/20190319_154751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="250" data-original-width="516" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIsK29AZCQwMfls1pWp0i-qSawBsbGrjczGVFtJPuJzWtpH0gE6CQx0p0G5u_sU9-D-uM_XNFmz5tpNV80sRCaHOGPqZa4_ro4dNxolfg74QDQcjSBoN0pC8GU8NLe2-0Mhr1rkwEEEzyf/s640/20190319_154751.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Now if I could only get some time to actually play a game. Right now I'm still working all hours on weekends. Anyway here's the first item. I added more units to my Naval Infantry Brigade, starting with the 1612th Artillery Battalion.<br />

I wasn't too upset because I still had two ground units to finish painting. Now that I've got time I can finish them up at the level I want. I still plan to play the sometime after St. Patrick's Day. As for Gnome Con I still got to play some great games including Christian's new roller derby game. I also won the Rubber and Lead tournament.<br />
<br />

<br />
Yesterday I completed one the last units needed for the ground game. That being the danish reinforcements, a mechanized battalion. Here's the unit all together with a few extras.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw0U8XFPCmPAjT4c-KqdFnDiMq1p7fZe64F-IlaygRgoZbKAes7k-l5W2rU8pLRM84J-NxNB47SnagDZNLJa0z_RTUgfh2m2mJFE_Biuq-bgpYkdFZr1n1M0KRF3_AV4JL5vvG3VGckyWL/s1600/20180311_204329.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw0U8XFPCmPAjT4c-KqdFnDiMq1p7fZe64F-IlaygRgoZbKAes7k-l5W2rU8pLRM84J-NxNB47SnagDZNLJa0z_RTUgfh2m2mJFE_Biuq-bgpYkdFZr1n1M0KRF3_AV4JL5vvG3VGckyWL/s640/20180311_204329.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm thinking of naming the 2nd BN, Guards Hussars Regiment. The danish battalions during the 1980s were a mix of heavy light and reserve units all in the same battalion. Now to go over the different units. First we have the two mechanized companies mounted on M113s. One platoon out each would be part of the reserves.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQpwTsY_LTrQlhGqi4lpLXg_dVaq9E0fyiEaQoZEFpIKQRYGUucrL0EWjEaQEE7LNNJSt6wTShydtWN1tUmqgcEQlTVBkgtpw6hIphjpnmEXcRu3xk7Z0032CHsxOdHcucOgV3nn4oKeWs/s1600/20180311_204358.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQpwTsY_LTrQlhGqi4lpLXg_dVaq9E0fyiEaQoZEFpIKQRYGUucrL0EWjEaQEE7LNNJSt6wTShydtWN1tUmqgcEQlTVBkgtpw6hIphjpnmEXcRu3xk7Z0032CHsxOdHcucOgV3nn4oKeWs/s640/20180311_204358.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizrgvynN_DjFyCQ_1CzQsn44wRp48LdvziEBWCG9wnIOPeOzv7fM3QV9qPs9qp-1JksSCgbCQfuF8d9jtmWRVO-D9PYfqdwzaqiG19HprVXlPhb1J9O6TVhKB2xH_WB1-KyN1d2FOftBAd/s1600/20180311_204407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizrgvynN_DjFyCQ_1CzQsn44wRp48LdvziEBWCG9wnIOPeOzv7fM3QV9qPs9qp-1JksSCgbCQfuF8d9jtmWRVO-D9PYfqdwzaqiG19HprVXlPhb1J9O6TVhKB2xH_WB1-KyN1d2FOftBAd/s640/20180311_204407.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next we have the battalions motorized company, mounted on Unimog trucks. This unit was also part of the reserves.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9hxgRtQl3C4Q99eTuAQL00d_5yAK_yBoV23zvW27FSPRrLizK40TxyBYaTnhvzM8BStHovGzd999CDhITBXQtpQGsdJYRaML_F1iJlOXCYH6yz4QooPPthletOqrQsZh7n6K_oMcU26e0/s1600/20180311_204415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9hxgRtQl3C4Q99eTuAQL00d_5yAK_yBoV23zvW27FSPRrLizK40TxyBYaTnhvzM8BStHovGzd999CDhITBXQtpQGsdJYRaML_F1iJlOXCYH6yz4QooPPthletOqrQsZh7n6K_oMcU26e0/s640/20180311_204415.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next we have the battalion tank company, equipped with Centurions. In addition to adding baggage and ammo crates, I tried a new technique to add camouflage netting to vehicles. It seems to have work very well. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyPyngZ3nRhma12jc_6JXDhVf9qPvOtxpb64qFbEYLmDDMRH0QpELykzpHlc24GKleoRDyir4u1R2d8eAfzOme5S7oJuDhjoYKgb7EJGbe4lQdgQwyhaDAMVm-T2d37r-TRfl5XsfyvRQR/s1600/20180311_204604.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyPyngZ3nRhma12jc_6JXDhVf9qPvOtxpb64qFbEYLmDDMRH0QpELykzpHlc24GKleoRDyir4u1R2d8eAfzOme5S7oJuDhjoYKgb7EJGbe4lQdgQwyhaDAMVm-T2d37r-TRfl5XsfyvRQR/s640/20180311_204604.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally we have the battalion HQ and support units. This includes a Self-propelled 120mm mortar, a pair of jeep mounted TOW missiles, and the command track, a M113 with a lot of camo-netting on it.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Need to brush off some of the extra flock.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
As for the extra's most are from the brigade artillery battalion, to include a Hamlet missile team, a 40mm Bofors AA gun, and an FO Jeep.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirREmOOr0CX9J0ZRuC-37fcmHGIO-KJOuQaHsd105UE7ZrLQfVJUYUneiSJlG6ja35ZriQ5kYD83ApTtOMEjnpHXnBrNRH_wbQjX52bd3Lsrt34D5Bgyd2nVn8LI_FGrarb6EtdRDkbydo/s1600/20180311_204810.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirREmOOr0CX9J0ZRuC-37fcmHGIO-KJOuQaHsd105UE7ZrLQfVJUYUneiSJlG6ja35ZriQ5kYD83ApTtOMEjnpHXnBrNRH_wbQjX52bd3Lsrt34D5Bgyd2nVn8LI_FGrarb6EtdRDkbydo/s640/20180311_204810.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The other extras are a recon platoon from the divisional recon battalion and a jeep with a 106 Recoil-less Rifle to support the territorials.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgregIophVf0AysBwC4hUxq1lMzYMX9-J6_j7Bdn3hcASNoxk8PLWuYR0FEjRc3bFBkEdTPB0r3He225nJTdRN3EYAE3BR-n_RWEhlyV4rg8jGJbNda4tf_4KhLb1L1vhSsP94_1IRUwlbt/s1600/20180311_204829.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgregIophVf0AysBwC4hUxq1lMzYMX9-J6_j7Bdn3hcASNoxk8PLWuYR0FEjRc3bFBkEdTPB0r3He225nJTdRN3EYAE3BR-n_RWEhlyV4rg8jGJbNda4tf_4KhLb1L1vhSsP94_1IRUwlbt/s640/20180311_204829.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The recon platoon is equipped with M41DK light tanks. These were M41 walker bulldogs that the danish pimped out with laser range finders, Thermal sights, extra armor and stowage racks. No body makes one in 6mm so I had to modify a H&R M41. Here' what the original looked like.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp8V_FrYTap58RswGXM537pB5K251iKXDvN8sHTidqJ3FDDS5yDBHekivCS5a9BJO8n9TDrP6gJwe1ZifXNeKwXlyartav1rO_IkyazHx1rRMkllffmF6yxCwBTdBZEH1eF4RW5NKrzVi-/s1600/C9tE7m-UQAAmIsJ.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp8V_FrYTap58RswGXM537pB5K251iKXDvN8sHTidqJ3FDDS5yDBHekivCS5a9BJO8n9TDrP6gJwe1ZifXNeKwXlyartav1rO_IkyazHx1rRMkllffmF6yxCwBTdBZEH1eF4RW5NKrzVi-/s640/C9tE7m-UQAAmIsJ.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
At first I thought doing the forward stowage racks was going to be a pain. I thought of making them out of metal mesh but felt they would look kind of hooky at this scale. Luckily in most of the pictures I saw, these tanks while in the field had their whole turrets covered in camouflage netting.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiskmCO7au1OfOr6YBige6Q6lQwQsJRtZjabn2pelzvpAfT41Lc9kx-6D6bjj7IZzwyR-VNYOFJYTihs7CFlfowPZeUHTR6bCHID8ZyMv7oUTefec81M8V7M6x8wG6drYy2dP6pRbpZJvz3/s1600/f0205060_54b3531999ca0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="338" data-original-width="600" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiskmCO7au1OfOr6YBige6Q6lQwQsJRtZjabn2pelzvpAfT41Lc9kx-6D6bjj7IZzwyR-VNYOFJYTihs7CFlfowPZeUHTR6bCHID8ZyMv7oUTefec81M8V7M6x8wG6drYy2dP6pRbpZJvz3/s640/f0205060_54b3531999ca0.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjNToyR5oQRSR4YzKWXjY0NAoQGjzjGdyQdf0mkGR3mc6F-jFqhVf0LD60CEj4kDTwqAAykZkhb1VarmszHwfwwC8iCDVembG2MTSG3d7Zqh5XvYBCjtSpsglSyW3K7LIG0sVIgEh_CpnO/s1600/m41_dk_1_by_liam2010-d6fprr5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjNToyR5oQRSR4YzKWXjY0NAoQGjzjGdyQdf0mkGR3mc6F-jFqhVf0LD60CEj4kDTwqAAykZkhb1VarmszHwfwwC8iCDVembG2MTSG3d7Zqh5XvYBCjtSpsglSyW3K7LIG0sVIgEh_CpnO/s640/m41_dk_1_by_liam2010-d6fprr5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So using plastic card, I added a laser sight, some rough sides skirts, and made the turret more box like. Then using my new technique, I covered the whole thing in camo-netting. The finished result is not pretty, but it's serviceable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I think I'll take a brake from painting modern units next week. Maybe paint some new WWII or ACW.<br />

If not I'll play it out within the next few months. This time I painted even more rural houses, I should have enough now. Here's some picture of the new houses.<br />

<br />
Most of these are houses I brought at Rapier a few years ago.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnzByTS6UV_ZjQ817sk9IdhCLnQvaYjgPA4IhyphenhyphenPIPDybhIKCXGyEuCyWd0zP2LN05GSQveQriPXaO-vbBAWwk-u4S1pt6onZaOO6Kj6aua6WUfDuQQ6HWUtjHODiWXj4S-nQsWVjtUSkc/s1600/20180222_135736.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnzByTS6UV_ZjQ817sk9IdhCLnQvaYjgPA4IhyphenhyphenPIPDybhIKCXGyEuCyWd0zP2LN05GSQveQriPXaO-vbBAWwk-u4S1pt6onZaOO6Kj6aua6WUfDuQQ6HWUtjHODiWXj4S-nQsWVjtUSkc/s640/20180222_135736.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
And now for something completely different. I know I stated a few post ago that I was done with the ships and I am, for the naval game. I still need some LST for the ground game to mark the landing zones for the naval infantry. Since hardly anyone makes Russian LST models, I only found an Alligator class model that cost $50 (too much!), I decided to make them from scratch.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiysDaFwmRIimriyRwP06drSf0byt1zOqN5Bj6TSODnGJSm4qXwUqiiX6qnHJrJo2maJDpSb9eMaydTU5hiR6BBHDpJXVFoIrc_tBdA3dTsHjpxXtS97I-US3VM1dbvo1ianrX-dQhX0dp7/s1600/20180215_102936.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiysDaFwmRIimriyRwP06drSf0byt1zOqN5Bj6TSODnGJSm4qXwUqiiX6qnHJrJo2maJDpSb9eMaydTU5hiR6BBHDpJXVFoIrc_tBdA3dTsHjpxXtS97I-US3VM1dbvo1ianrX-dQhX0dp7/s640/20180215_102936.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Using balsa wood and scale line drawings for reference. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Since these models well be representing individual ships, instead of groups, I made them 1/600 scale as opposed to 1/300. Here's how they came out.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWQLQ7ZtN-JsdRG_AtKsLMOeI9PzWNpQE-ovA5MjnYNf_MnRaepH_YDwKNHZfPStHWouza5bNV4SDn1WTTSVTbma7HsJeXq3ikeTIh0PdhpIBd4MV-HjfpeKCLhYyiXIm3ND43RNndXW5K/s1600/20180222_140115.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWQLQ7ZtN-JsdRG_AtKsLMOeI9PzWNpQE-ovA5MjnYNf_MnRaepH_YDwKNHZfPStHWouza5bNV4SDn1WTTSVTbma7HsJeXq3ikeTIh0PdhpIBd4MV-HjfpeKCLhYyiXIm3ND43RNndXW5K/s640/20180222_140115.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Two Ropucha class LSTs. These were the most complex to be built, so of course in needed two of them.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2v8pbvydSErvPtsVYRDfsQyfhcTZw5X8USLc1MaUlGximE64f913FgYFFLf3q87mryFKoiUNermz5swsLfPP07szrJlE8jhSMCSBzx2kbEBrbyTL7x8Xo5YIFo5rB7YzOPkD-TNwaBW2E/s1600/20180222_140146.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2v8pbvydSErvPtsVYRDfsQyfhcTZw5X8USLc1MaUlGximE64f913FgYFFLf3q87mryFKoiUNermz5swsLfPP07szrJlE8jhSMCSBzx2kbEBrbyTL7x8Xo5YIFo5rB7YzOPkD-TNwaBW2E/s640/20180222_140146.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">An Alligator class LST and a Polnocny class LSM.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
There not pretty, but they'll get the job done. Now I'm working on my next batch of NATO forces. Here's a sneak peek.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqDJK0QzKg7ahnFm7mzL7UKRArJh418XcjhgoA3P06d3StKWGyxVSQd78VhXIM_Asz1rIf70RIajRgThRMrK2QeACZp4jd5yhyphenhyphenGK2yY1HJzxpkdcSEU88OUucyp3hqbmg8nujxlBYaRz59/s1600/20180222_135218.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqDJK0QzKg7ahnFm7mzL7UKRArJh418XcjhgoA3P06d3StKWGyxVSQd78VhXIM_Asz1rIf70RIajRgThRMrK2QeACZp4jd5yhyphenhyphenGK2yY1HJzxpkdcSEU88OUucyp3hqbmg8nujxlBYaRz59/s640/20180222_135218.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Anyway that's what I got now.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here is the latest effort, the 878th naval infantry battalion. This the second battalion in my naval infantry brigade. I've also started working on some of the brigade support units. Here's all the stuff together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpw4hLcR2-Dh-KDUn9r-zd8rr5gd5er8vPcuyJdABHFzFk6hjThOoMxMk2J3sp6bqQopduOi7ZdloziOgJjm9fKkc4xNFvDfS7nahFi-N7eRAdamOGYBOet6HF2Npc_6fidj6EMJAlcixG/s1600/20180213_234630.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpw4hLcR2-Dh-KDUn9r-zd8rr5gd5er8vPcuyJdABHFzFk6hjThOoMxMk2J3sp6bqQopduOi7ZdloziOgJjm9fKkc4xNFvDfS7nahFi-N7eRAdamOGYBOet6HF2Npc_6fidj6EMJAlcixG/s640/20180213_234630.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Here we have the main fighting part of the battalion, it's three infantry companies. Three of the infantry platoons are backwards showing the white unit color on the back of the stand.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMfRfk1fLyqK4UB91a9fBQ0-FmZj_4OemyNluZDJMl-UkaEv5tcFgr9FuH-4LQ1NJ74hVyjb92S3v_fqm2mIX8xcy7VtBSWsau_ckmZFyezatz0z5qf3cAQBOh_mb5XLMJKMVuqyYYXqvh/s1600/20180213_235308.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMfRfk1fLyqK4UB91a9fBQ0-FmZj_4OemyNluZDJMl-UkaEv5tcFgr9FuH-4LQ1NJ74hVyjb92S3v_fqm2mIX8xcy7VtBSWsau_ckmZFyezatz0z5qf3cAQBOh_mb5XLMJKMVuqyYYXqvh/s640/20180213_235308.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The BTR-70s are GHQ, while the infantry is H&R.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Next up we have the battalion support units. This includes the Anti-tank platoon, anti-aircraft platoon, and the mortar platoon. For the mortar platoon I've given the option for the unit to have either a regular 120mm mortar or a 2S9 Self-propelled mortar.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggeyHL7j0Na69h4BTbOmuyGq-gFII5k80jTMDJLaJ0P9clnFQEjP9iRvNC5jaJjqPCLBf9w2dQ7-CtFyOVdxwTX0N17nbsC5Us1hWEciGIPTHoyYBUny8YLz33m7vWnqr5IDtJQY7Jaxor/s1600/20180213_235533.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggeyHL7j0Na69h4BTbOmuyGq-gFII5k80jTMDJLaJ0P9clnFQEjP9iRvNC5jaJjqPCLBf9w2dQ7-CtFyOVdxwTX0N17nbsC5Us1hWEciGIPTHoyYBUny8YLz33m7vWnqr5IDtJQY7Jaxor/s640/20180213_235533.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Once again, the infantry weapons are H&R and the BTRs GHQ. The Gaz-66 truck is Scotia and the 2S9 is C&C.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Finally we have some of the brigade units, including the brigade HQ, recon company, and anti-aircraft battery.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicUmkDk_ZfZei-bFLvqpevFxw3oTFUXLBvM3lqPS90aOSlxiX5UAtKURX6CX3DyFbpD54M9txhg5UeEfFT-XZ5qvpqGzw3jYHNpaeZNAojpwONBpwnuEZvnr5wnUDTu5x7n33V4Os5aCah/s1600/20180213_235752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicUmkDk_ZfZei-bFLvqpevFxw3oTFUXLBvM3lqPS90aOSlxiX5UAtKURX6CX3DyFbpD54M9txhg5UeEfFT-XZ5qvpqGzw3jYHNpaeZNAojpwONBpwnuEZvnr5wnUDTu5x7n33V4Os5aCah/s640/20180213_235752.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The BRDM-2s are either GHQ or Scotia. The PT-76 is C&C. The ZSU-23 is GHQ, while the SA-9 I believe is Scotia. Brigade HQ BTR-60PU is H&R (The photo doesn't do it justice).</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Next I'm going to do more of the terrain I'll need for the game. I still have two more battalions to do, as well as some aircraft. Hopefully I can make it in time for Gnomecon, if not I'm definitely playing the game later.<br />
<br />JLee118http://www.blogger.com/profile/17019479873474364780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1805848191179881331.post-80676561208286975122018-02-06T14:36:00.000-05:002018-02-06T14:36:23.078-05:00Ships are done!I just finished all the ship need for my GnomeCon invasion game. Now I just need to finish the ground units and I'm good. Here's all the new ships together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_ejLhti1Hzx9eKs7VD793038IKS5UW2IEzbTPkwcDk6fNadt0DseQnF6Az8Bzw4cH9n8H9fQZb40rCGcLRrH7IEK6yf_oxHIKm_6Qh096AT957jDGHCjuLgdCqZzV5jzo3Soi8DzQ9VHf/s1600/20180206_122035.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_ejLhti1Hzx9eKs7VD793038IKS5UW2IEzbTPkwcDk6fNadt0DseQnF6Az8Bzw4cH9n8H9fQZb40rCGcLRrH7IEK6yf_oxHIKm_6Qh096AT957jDGHCjuLgdCqZzV5jzo3Soi8DzQ9VHf/s640/20180206_122035.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Below we have the new Soviet combat ships including a new Krivak I FF and 2 Kashin DDG. The Kashin DDGs are something my Soviet navy has be badly needing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz0ruai49p1-KlIDkw2s0VbbbwF4tHdk6PcjaJH3KmQ3jdlc_9jU8bCsqI0EMNE09ohbNwCNxostusB-IqblqrjEnpb9pQ20eNDXBDmYwyifl0C-wfsWeQBBjeSJ8HxahoEka1jB8eHdHy/s1600/20180206_122128.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz0ruai49p1-KlIDkw2s0VbbbwF4tHdk6PcjaJH3KmQ3jdlc_9jU8bCsqI0EMNE09ohbNwCNxostusB-IqblqrjEnpb9pQ20eNDXBDmYwyifl0C-wfsWeQBBjeSJ8HxahoEka1jB8eHdHy/s640/20180206_122128.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next we have some of the soviet landing ships as well as an auxiliary. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaPwCPWu8G3Et615WyYyco2FBiXSHgY3X48XfPTqnF7IFzNRzKk8FrkYXHutznUk9Rat5sK16AjQxJZEwNpeMDZ3iD0l0qIIT9roVZHJPJwD_oUaUn7JpxAZH61SGaa64sqPNy5wLTczWw/s1600/20180206_122205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaPwCPWu8G3Et615WyYyco2FBiXSHgY3X48XfPTqnF7IFzNRzKk8FrkYXHutznUk9Rat5sK16AjQxJZEwNpeMDZ3iD0l0qIIT9roVZHJPJwD_oUaUn7JpxAZH61SGaa64sqPNy5wLTczWw/s640/20180206_122205.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
For NATO have have the remaining Danish ships, a FF, two missile boats, and a German made submarine. I also have the Germans sub in the picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJjiT_UKf4stSL2o_tWwCVlX-2DM5J67lWKuMe9-13YpZ6wognmLKLyI-sXkkjlM7HB1t43e_yW5XR4ChOBfDVm6-JjeUwizU6gV0ac3ADH1L_2qwWqlPKHTekctOnNYlYddRZlGNSWWiQ/s1600/20180206_122311.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJjiT_UKf4stSL2o_tWwCVlX-2DM5J67lWKuMe9-13YpZ6wognmLKLyI-sXkkjlM7HB1t43e_yW5XR4ChOBfDVm6-JjeUwizU6gV0ac3ADH1L_2qwWqlPKHTekctOnNYlYddRZlGNSWWiQ/s640/20180206_122311.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally we have the new aircraft. For the Soviets a group of Su-24 Fencers. I also did a group of F-4s these in German camouflage, not my best work.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT-RNrYU8N_BnYA662Luv02JsIolMBeD-NepcH6OuBDpRInN0SP8e1VIEPZ-TI6RGtJ1KEdVQClZwclEZrPcn_vcq84GfB2wWdjUjWDjs-WCCvzX3J1x8M6pEOHMVOk0lN_fMftxZFACSA/s1600/20180206_122445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT-RNrYU8N_BnYA662Luv02JsIolMBeD-NepcH6OuBDpRInN0SP8e1VIEPZ-TI6RGtJ1KEdVQClZwclEZrPcn_vcq84GfB2wWdjUjWDjs-WCCvzX3J1x8M6pEOHMVOk0lN_fMftxZFACSA/s320/20180206_122445.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Now I just need to finish the ground units. I already have a group primed and ready to paint. I am a little concerned about GnomeCon itself as they have yet to list my games on their website or any other games for that matter.<br />

To this end I decided to paint or repaint some of my micro-armor houses. These particular buildings hold a sentimental value to me being the first war gaming buildings I bought some thirty years ago. In that time some of them have been damaged and I decided to use this opportunity to fixed some of them up.<br />

The first step was to glue them to bases. I then used Acrylic Gel to make the bases somewhat flush. For the Church and the Mansion I used fine model railroad ballast to make gravel drive ways. Finally I used green stuff to try to repair some of the roofs.<br />

Well that's the first batch of buildings. (I have to do at least 6 more.) Next up I'll be painting up more ships for the naval part.JLee118http://www.blogger.com/profile/17019479873474364780noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1805848191179881331.post-8740873558120657922018-01-07T02:22:00.001-05:002018-01-07T02:23:44.415-05:00First new painting of the yearHappy New Year, everyone! This last week was surprising as we actually got snowed on here in Savannah. For a while I was trapped on the island with my Dad as all the bridges were closed. Since then I've been staying there because my house is an icebox right now. (I cut the gas off years ago because I got tired of being screwed year round by the gas company.)<br />

This doesn't mean I haven't been working as I have finished my latest unit for the invasion project. Here we have a Danish territorial company, consisting of 3 infantry stands and 1 heavy weapons stand. The whole unit is mounted in a variety of civilian vehicles. I was inspired by Richards Danish Home Guard units at Cold War Hot Hot!.<br />

Anyway that's the first new stuff for the new year. The ships I order came in sooner than I expected so I'll either work on them or some new terrain pieces. I still need to make one more order before I have everything I need for the game.<br />
